Singapore Trip Day 4 : Sentosa Island and Clarke Quay

Singapore Trip Day 4 : Sentosa Island and Clarke Quay

Day 4 (Nov 1st 2009) and we played in Sentosa all day!

But first before we spent the day at Sentosa, we had to fill our stomach with a lot of food. This was my choice, charshiew rice -actually, I forgot the name- It’s cheap, around $2-$3.

After that we were ready to go! Yay. We took MRT to Harbour Front/Vivo City. We wanted to take the cable car but apparently the cable car was closed for development. booooo!!! We had to take tram to get there (or by car).  And we met my best friend Selvy. She’s our tour guide for the whole day xD

Before purchasing our ticket, let’s take a lot of photo first xD There’s a good spot to take pictures on top roof of Vivo City. There’s this huge Xmas Tree. I bet it will look more beautiful at night with the lights on.

We bought the Day Pass – Sentosa Choice Package ticket which consist of : Fort Siloso, Segway, Sky Tower, and Luge & Skyride + our tram ticket. So pay attention, if you buy the package, you don’t need to buy tram ticket anymore. While I was queuing for our ticket, my friend bought 9 tram tickets! Luckily we could refund them. If not, what a waste! And the whole package cost me $39/person.

First we took the tram to Sentosa Island.

Disini kita bingung nih, mau kemana dulu. Trus bus stop nya mana??? Ternyata bus stop ada di seberang jalan, trus agak jalan dikit. Kita muter2 kayak orang nyasar xD Oh ya, PETA SENTOSA tuh wajib hukumnya! kalo ga lu bakalan susah nentuin tempat2 yg mau lu kunjungin.

Underwater world & Dolphin Lagoon.

Our first stop was Underwater World. It’s not included in the package so we had to buy the tix again. It costs $22.90/adult. This underwater/dolphin is buy 1 get 1 ticket which means if you buy dolphin’s tix you’ll get underwater world and vice versa. Four of my friend (boys – let’s refer them as Team A) went to see 4D cinema which they said it’s really worth it. Mirip2 yg di Dufan tapi ini lebih keliatan 4D nya. Kalau di Dufan kan cuma geli-geli di kursi aja tuh nah ini bisa WOWW gitu. Pirates 4D attraction is a must kata temen gw.

Because dolphin lagoon is located so far away from where we were now, we decided to go to underwater with my friends (let’s refer them with Team B). Then Team B left first, they wanted to catch the show at dolphin lagoon first (since she’s a dolphin lover).

Udah beberapa kali ke sini dan tetep membosankan sih… isi nya ikan-ikan doang. I found a really cute fish sampe yg the nastiest one, kecoa segede-gede bagong dan cumi cumi yg kaya di Pirates of Carribean itu.

cute fish. this fish is really really tiny.

Tiger Sky Tower

After that we had lunch first. Then we met Team A at Tiger Sky Tower. This attraction is kinda boring. We just sat in a capsule which will rotate on the way to the top and you can see Singapore from above. It’s making you dizzy too!

You can see everything from the top of the world Tiger Sky Tower.

And Thank God the weather was good on that day. The weather was unpredictable in Singapore. Two days before this it was raining and cloudy all day.

Luge and Skyride

Then Team A and me took a bus to the next attraction, Luge and Skyride. Luge is one of the best attraction here in Sentosa. You can race with your friend while riding the cart. It was fun! We’d love to try this again xD Oh you can choose which ride you’d like to go first, Luge or Skyride. My friends and I tried the luge first. The instructor would explain how to ride the cart and it’s not hard at all compared to Segway (continue reading this post for exlanation).

luge-and-skyride

At the finishing point, we went back to our start point by Skyride. It’s so tall and it’s windy when you go higher. It’s a must to try attraction in Sentosa! :D

Dolphin Lagoon

IMG_3951We separated again from Team A (they want to have lunch while we already had ours after we left Underwater world). We didn’t want to waste our ticket so we hurried take another bus to Dolphin Lagoon. When we got there the dolphin show already ended and there’s only a photo session with the pink dolphins. We met Team B who just finished watching the show there. If you want to take a picture with the dolphin and touch them, you need to pay extra fee ;) But don’t worry be happy … you can always cheat like I did :D hahaha

Team B left to somewhere else. Me and my friends reunited again with Team A at Fort Siloso.

Fort Siloso

Copied from sentosa website :

Singapore’s only preserved coastal fort stands as an important window to our colonial past and a poignant reminder of the war years. It has the largest collection of World War II memorabilia with life-sized replicas, interactive exhibits and even authentic aromas are lovingly recreated. Visitors can browse through more than 245 photographs, documents and film clips on display. When ‘classes’ are over, head out into the sunshine and examine actual 17th century guns and cannons, or explore the old tunnels. And while you’re here, be sure to check out two new docudramas about the war years, three new routes and some brand-new exhibits, guaranteed to make history leap out at you.

If you don’t like history, this might bored you to the max. But you can try to explore the tunnels and the exhibitions. There’s 2 or 3 tunnels if I’m not mistaken (I forgot. There’s like 2 or 3 tunnels which was used in World War 2 in this area). I only got a change to explore the shortest path. The longest tunnel will take 1-2 hours by walking, we didn’t have enough time for that. It’s already 4pm and we still got another attraction to go. The shortest tunnel wasn’t scary (yeahhh..because there were 10 ppl with us :P ) I didn’t know about the longest tunnel but there’re 2 Japanese/Korean ladies who canceled to enter the tunnel after realized there’s nobody beside them went inside there. LOL. XD

fort siloso 1

This place was a bit boring for me but I don’t know why ya… when I checked my photos, Fort Siloso is the place where I took pictures the most. LOL. :p

Segway

We spent 1 hour at Fort Siloso then we went to play the Segway (near Siloso Beach). Segway is actually a two-wheeled transportation.

The Segway PT is a two-wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicle invented by Dean Kamen. It is produced by Segway Inc. of New Hampshire, USA. The name “Segway” is a homophone of “segue” (a smooth transition, literally Italian and Portuguese for “follows”). PT is an initialism for personal transporter while the old suffix HT was an initialism for human transporter.

The next day, I saw someone using this vehicle at Orchard road. ME WANTSSS!!! XD

Siloso Beach

Went to check Song of The Sea but we decided not to go. So we played at the beach for awhile til the sunset.

That’s the end of our Sentosa day. We went back to Vivo City and had dinner. After that we met my friend there. He took us to a chocolate store inside Vivo City. My friends spent a lot of money here :D

IMG00787-20091101-1934

And then we took MRT to Clarke Quay

IMG_4030

Clarke Quay is famous for restaurants and nightclubs especially on Saturday. You can find The G-MAX reverse bungee here. Because we went there on Sunday night, the bars were not really crowded and they closed early because the next day was Monday :D People had to go to work :D

And you’ll also find a lot of couples here: kissing (passionately!), cuddling, blablabla.

We went to a bar and get drunk. I didn’t but my friends did :P They talked a lot on the way home. xD

And that’s the end of day 4 :D Thanks to Selvy and Om Jo for the day :D

hari2 sebelumnya jga ada … hari2 sebelumnya juag bisa bikin ngeces2 loh >:)

itu pink dolphin emang warnanya kayak begitu. menurut website yg gw baca :

It could be an adaptation to the river life or caused by the presence of capillaries near the surface of the skin what provide them such impressive color. Additionally, pink dolphins get pinker when they are excited or surprised, resembling blushing in humans.
